FWRD Transylvania, the long-term recovery group that emerged after Hurricane Helene in September 2024.

The mission of FWRD Transylvania is to provide coordinated recovery support to neighbors after a disaster, prepare for future events, and build community resilience.

Core Focus Areas Include:

Disaster Case Management – Connecting neighbors to services and identifying unmet needs to support recovery
Volunteer & Construction Coordination – Organizing volunteers and partners for cleanup, repairs, and rebuilding
Community Engagement & Healing – Creating spaces for connection, voice, and collective healing throughout recovery
Economic Recovery & Small Business Support – Supporting local businesses and workers in returning to stability
Fundraising & Grant Strategy – Securing and aligning resources to sustain and scale recovery efforts
Preparedness & Planning – Strengthening systems and coordination to improve future disaster response
