Featuring: BlinkNow founder Maggie Doyne
Friday, May 8, 2026 | 6:30–8:30 p.m.
Parker Concert Hall| Brevard Music Center (349 Andante Lane, Brevard, NC 28712)
Join us for a special evening of storytelling, connection, and community reflection to kick off Mother's Day Weekend. We’ll gather for a screening of Between the Mountain and the Sky, followed by a live conversation with nonprofit founder and CNN Hero Maggie Doyne and a book signing.
This powerful film traces Maggie’s journey from a gap year trip to co-founding a transformative community in Nepal—offering a compelling example of women’s leadership in action. Her work reflects a holistic approach to expanding access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity and invites us to consider how these same forces shape well-being in our own communities.
The film also explores themes of grief, loss, and rebuilding after crisis—deeply resonant in Western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
The evening will conclude with a live conversation and book signing, with copies available through Highland Books.
This evening is an offering of the PowHer Women’s Networking Collaborative, a joint initiative of Pisgah Health Foundation, the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce, SparkPoint, and Kayla Leed Creative. This is a free, community event open to all. Childcare will be provided. Registration is required due to limited capacity.
